We believe vocational education is key to empower women to improve quality of life & to live with dignity not dependence

Project Overview

Ladli Foundation through its Project “ SASHAKT” aims to create awareness in the society regarding Education and Necessary Skills required for the upliftment of the Girl Child. Education is the most important and effective tool which has the power to change the world. Being educated not only make you aware about the things but it helps you to survive.

Facts: Reports shows that literacy rate works out to be 64.8 %, the male literacy rate is 75.3% and that for females is 53.7%, showing a gap of 21.6 percentage points between the sexes at the national level. The gap is more in the rural areas. In this changing environment scenario it has become important for girls to get education.

Females are the ones who convert a home into house, who are the backbone of a family and as well as the nation. So, in order to keep the backbone strong we need to put efforts in the empowerment of women. As we know that, India is the populated and developing country, the families in rural areas are much bigger than the urban areas; in rural areas people are not aware about the consequences of having more than 1 or 2 children, they think that more children in the family means more sources of income but little do they know about problems and expenses they have to bear in order to feed those children. If a girl has studied till class 10th or 12th and does not have any technical or vocational skill or fluency in English, then their education will not take them to new horizons.

“Changing the mindset of the society about women is the Real  women empowerment.”

Are there any jobs for a 10th or 12th pass?

No, the only jobs left for a 10th or 12th pass are as follows:

  • Domestic helper
  • Salesgirl in small shops
  • Cleaners in schools
  • Full time maid
  • Cooks in houses
  • Vegetable seller

These under educated girls can become the victims of sexual abuse while working as a domestic helper. In order to survive in this technical world, they are required to have the skills that are demanded by the employers, 10th or 12th basic education is not enough to survive in this competitive world.

Women education can be improved by helping the poor girls to complete their intermediate education. We talk about educating the women about what type of skills are actually required? What is the need of an hour?  Giving them Education and training that is useful in the workplace is also essential.  The aim is to help them grow and  provide them with job-relevant skills that employers actually demand, or which will help them in launching their own business. Ladli foundation is able to achieve some benchmarks:

  • Helped 6000 girls to get intermediate education because they do not have the means to get their hands on books
  • Opened a training institute where approximately 12000 girls have been provided Basic computer and English training.
  • Regularly organized the batches of 1500 girls in the span of every 4 months.
  • Helped more than 2000 girls in Employment on the basis of these technical skills and now they are earning well.

Why to donate for Vocational Education for these girls?

Ladli Foundation believes that the most vulnerable prey in India today is an “uneducated poor women”. Ladli gets poignant to see that because of the curse of being uneducated and poor these girls get molested, raped, dragged to prostitution and abused even within the four walls of domestication. Under such pressure, the women resort to suicide.

Ladli foundation has been doing the work solely by the contribution given by its members and is working hard to build more training institutes and to add more things to its Project “SHASHAKT”.
